Adult Education and Literacy (AEL)
AEL serves the Northwest Missouri counties of Nodaway, Worth, Holt, Atchison and Gentry
AEL Provides:
- Educational services for those who were unable to complete high school by assisting them in their preparation for the high school equivalency diploma (HiSET®).
- Educational services for adult learners wanting to improve basic skill areas for self-improvement, academic advancement, and/or increased workplace alternatives.
- Classes for English Language Learners.

Location and Hours
Our main Learning Center is located in the Thompson-Ringold Building on the NWMSU campus.
We are open from 8am -12pm, Monday through Friday, year-round.
Evening classes are offered from late August through May.
All classes are FREE, self-paced and individualized. Students may enter the program any time during the program year.
Classes are also offered in outlying areas.
