SUBSTITUTE PAY RATES
The compensation of substitute teachers is determined annually by the Board upon the recommendation of the superintendent; the pay rate for a substitute teacher on extended service* will be the same as a teacher on Level I with no years of experience. This does not include fringe benefits that are associated with a regular teacher's contract. When a substitute teacher qualifies for the extended pay rate, it shall apply beginning the eleventh consecutive day taught for that one teacher until there is a break in service.
- * Extended service" is defined as "a substitute teacher who has completed ten consecutive days of teaching and who continues to substitute for a specific regularly contracted teacher in the Maryville R-II School District." The superintendent will be notified when a substitute teacher works an extended service.
- "Break in service" is defined as the day that the regular teacher returns to the classroom.
