November 24, 2025

To help the R-II community be better prepared for winter weather, the Maryville R-II School District is sharing the following procedures which will be in place for the 2025-2026 school year.

Announcements concerning cancellations, early outs, and late starts will be made locally via the following:

Maryville R-II District website     R-II Twitter account     R-II District Facebook page

Textcaster Radio - KXCV-KRNW (90.5FM), KVVL (97.1FM) KC News Stations

In the event of a late start, all schedules for students grades K-12 will be on a two-hour delay from their normal start time.  Buses will also run on a two-hour delay.

Building Start Times on Two-Hour Delay:

9:50 Maryville Early Childhood Center (MECC) / Eugene Field Elementary (EFE)

10:00 Maryville Middle School (MMS)

9:55 Maryville High School (MHS) / Northwest Technical School (NTS) / TLC

In the event that school is in session, and weather conditions force the school district to release students early, all after-school activities and programs will be canceled.  However, if school is canceled and weather conditions improve, sports and activities can meet for voluntary practices with administrative approval.

Northwest Technical School will follow the same winter weather schedule as the Maryville R-II School District.  Adult Education courses may still have class on days when R-II classes are not in session, but instructors will communicate with students in these situations.

District personnel will use information from local, state, and national weather organizations to make determinations about dismissing or canceling school.  In addition, road conditions, wind chill temperatures, and student safety will be evaluated to determine what is best for students and staff of the District.

Growing Opportunities (G.O.) @ MECC/EFE will not open during a late start, but will remain open if school is released early.
