Because of road conditions , our Special Board of Education Meeting scheduled for 1/6/25 at noon has been rescheduled t0 1/7/25 at the District Administration Building.
Due to road conditions, all buildings on campus will be closed tomorrow 1/6/25. We will plan on our first PD day on Tuesday, January 7th. Students' first day back will now be 1/9/25.
Dear Maryville School District Community,
I hope this message finds you well and you are enjoying the start of the new year. As we prepare for the beginning of the second semester, I want to take a moment to address a potential concern regarding the weather conditions that may impact our school schedule.
Due to forecasts indicating the possibility of a significant snow event in the coming days, we are closely monitoring the situation. The safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities, and we want to ensure that everyone is prepared for any changes that may arise.
Staff members are scheduled to report back on Monday (1/6/25). We will closely monitor the road conditions and determine whether or not conditions are safe for our staff members to report. If we close campus that day, this will push the student start date back one day. As a reminder, we already delayed the start to 1/8/25 so that teachers at MECC and EFE have time to relocate their rooms due to continued construction. No matter the weather conditions, we will still allow for two days for our teachers and staff to unpack and arrange their rooms. This will help to assure that our students and staff have a great start to the semester. We will keep you informed as we assess the weather conditions and make decisions accordingly. Our goal is to provide timely updates so that families can plan accordingly.
Please stay tuned for further communications from the district. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we navigate this situation together.
Thank you for your continued support of our schools and community.
Warm regards,
Dr. Logan Lightfoot
Superintendent
