What an amazing evening! The MMS Vocal Music and Show Choir Concert was fantastic. Congrats to the Fifth Grade Choir, the Sixth Grade Choir, the Seventh Grade Choir, the Spotlight Show Choir, and the Encore Show Choir. What talent on display! Our students have great opportunities to excel in the vocal arts because of our wonderful instructors! A special "thank you" to Mrs. Jeter, Mrs. Carr, and Mrs. Parsons. We appreciate all you do for our singers!

It is Staff Appreciation Week at Maryville R-II! It is hard to find a way to say "thank you" to a group of amazing teachers, coaches, paras, custodians, bus drivers, administrators, office assistants, and maintenance staff. It truly takes a remarkable team to create an incredible learning environment for our students. We are blessed to have this team at Maryville R-II. A special thanks to our parent groups, churches, and community organizations who have provided meals, decorated schools, and found unique ways to show how much our staff members are valued and appreciated. Maryville is a special place where greatness happens each day, because of the pride we have in our community and our schools. #spoofhoundpride

Last Saturday, six high school students competed in National History Day State Competition in Columbia. Our students did fantastic! Thanks, Mr. Lefeber for your leadership and support for these students. Keagan and Josie Wilmes: Top 6 in Senior Exhibit Lydia Evans: Top 6 and Second Place Overall (she advances to Nationals this summer!)

Today, our 108 Family had the opportunity to open Spoofy Beans for leaders from Nucor at their international leadership meeting. Our students even had the opportunity to present our program, and show off their hard work! We are so thankful for Nucor's solid partnership and support of our Spoofy Beans program. Our schools and students are so successful because of the strong support we receive from our community and business partners. #spoofhoundpride

GREAT things happening in our FFA program! Jerrica Hess and Landon Liebhart both qualified and competed in State FFA competition on Friday. They both represented our program, school, and community very well. Landon ended up finishing as the 5th overall extemporaneous FFA speaker in the state of Missouri! We are so proud of both Landon and Jerrica! A special thanks to both Jeremy Lacy and Dillon Stiens for their leadership in preparing our students for these high levels of competition. #spoofhoundpride

We had a great learning opportunity for our NTS Ag students and our early childhood students this week. Our older students brought animals to the MECC, and had a chance to work with our youngest students. What a wonderful way to bring learning to life!

Don't Forget! 6:30pm tomorrow (Wednesday) in the PAC at MHS: Community Engagement Night regarding our district facilities! We will have an architect briefly present about our current buildings and facilities, and then gather community feedback. ALL are welcome to attend!

Last month, our Spoofhound family lost Martin Farnan after his battle with cancer. We lost a wonderful person and dedicated employee who touched the lives of so many students and staff members. Martin was also a dedicated Lion. Our area Lions Clubs are hosting a fundraiser for his family on April 29th. Please see the flier for the event information. Feel free to come out and enjoy some great food and fun. This should be a wonderful afternoon for all!

It will be a busy, but important, week for our district next week. Mark your calendars! Tuesday (4/18): Board of Education Meeting 6:00pm at the District Office. Wednesday (4/19): Community Engagement Night (District Facility Planning) 6:30pm at the Performing Arts Center in Maryville High School. Lead Architect Aaron Harte from Incite Design Studio will lead our discussion about the future of our school district facilities. We encourage all community members to attend!

We held our own version of March Madness at Eugene Field! Our third grade students had fun competing to accomplish individual Accelerated Reader and I-Ready lessons. Check out our class winners! Great job to a fantastic team of students and teachers.

Today, we celebrated a building intent on developing leaders. Congratulations to the students, teachers, and staff at Maryville Middle School as they hosted a phenomenal Leadership Day. MMS is a nationally recognized Lighthouse School for the "Leader in Me" program, for great reason. What a great place to lead and learn!

Wow! Our Singing Spoofhounds owned the weekend! At the Solo and Ensemble Music Festival at St. Joseph Central, our talented students shined through! Our Girls Sextet, Boys Sextet, Girls Trio, and Cassidy Kline all received EXCELLENT ratings. Malachi Bloomquest and the Girls Sextet received OUTSTANDING ratings. Way to go, singers! #spoofhoundpride

A huge congrats goes out to MMS students Faye Hornickle and Shuv Goswami for their performances at the NW Optimist Speech Contest. Faye took third place, and both represented Maryville R-II so well.
